It loooooks like pictures taken from an SLR. Did you get one?

I did and I'm loving it. It's so much more fun than a point and shoot. Plus, now I can stand over a flower for five minutes trying to figure out a shot without looking crazy. The bigger the camera, the less crazy.

Oh yeah I know. I have a Powershot S5 which is a "bridge" but despite it having Manual modes in various increments up to almost entirely manual, I'm so tired of their autofocus. fortunately, I can attach SLR lenses (and a speedlite!) so I might start looking into lenses.

I love the intensity of colors on Nikon lenses (or maybe it's the merit of their CCD processor), so if I ever get another cam, I think I'm going for a Nikon again. What's your model?

Stew, Your photos are WOW'able but.... don't give too much credit to the camera.

Never forget it's not the camera that makes pictures good it's what's 6 inches behind the camera - YOU!

I'll admit a good camera can help a good photographer be better, but then a good photographer can make great photos with an old oatmeal box made into a camera.

On the other side no matter how good the camera it will never make a bad photographer, good. Sorry you can't buy your way into being good you have to work your way there - and that's what you're doing.
